Grand Hotel Europe in the very centre of St. Petersburg opened almost 150 years ago as the first Russian grand hotel. Since then, more than one love story has been associated with its name. Marina Vlady and Vladimir Vysotsky, Maya Plisetskaya and Rodion Shchedrin, Galina Vishnevskaya and Mstislav Rostropovich lived here.
The authentic Art Nouveau interiors of the early 20th century serve as the perfect backdrop for festive events. Luxury weddings are held in the Europa Restaurant, opened in 1905 and accommodating up to 150 guests. The light pouring through the coloured mosaic roof is reflected on the panes of the stained-glass window ‘Apollo on the Chariot' by Leontius Benois. Balconies offering a marvellous view of the main dining room and five separate rooms give Europe a special cosiness.
A personal wedding consultant will help with the planning of the celebration and provide for every detail. And the hotel’s catering company will organise events in historical palaces of St. Petersburg.
Another legendary venue of the hotel is the Roof Ballroom with a spacious terrace. Filled with light and seemingly floating above the city, it hosts events for up to 180 guests.
The first russian grand hotel in russia
The Lidval Hall overlooking the Philharmonic Hall is suitable for a chamber wedding. It is adjoined by the Museum Room with rich mouldings and an oval table for 8 people. On the ground floor of the hotel there are 10 historical suites; in the Presidential Wing there are five spacious suites in the style of Russian avant-garde.
Author's wedding menus by chef Denis Sobolev combine sophistication and modern trends. The hotel's patisserie creates handmade cakes and chocolates.
